Why do a lot of women seem to think Halloween is hooker skank day? I don't understand why so many women think being half naked and dressed in hooker shoes/boots and tons of make-up constitutes a costume, do you? I don't see men running around all oiled up in a banana hammock on Oct 31st...

LOL I cannot believe the numebr of women who said I was jeallous or didn't have the body for it... If they only knew. I often think it is the women who DON'T have the body for it that dress this way. Maybe it has something to do with not being precevied as beautiful and sexy every day so they have to go all out this one day of the year?

I totally agree!! I used to work with this woman that used to dress up like a trashy $lut every Halloween, it was so pathetic. I can't believe the first answer!!!! Oh yes, I am sure you are so jealous. (sarcastically)

I think this goes to the idea that on Halloween, you get to be something other than you are every other day of the year. It is socially exceptable to dress as you put it "slutty" and not actually be percieved as one. As to why do women do it and not men, when was the last time any man ever did half the effort that women do. Most mens costumes are silly and easy. That I think breaks down into a much deeper question of the differences between men and women and that's not what you asked here. But it's Halloween, have fun, who cares if a women wears a little less clothing and a little more make-up than she might otherwise, as long as she's having fun.

Yea, I agree 110%! I notice too when at the costume stores with my two kids that most of the womens stuff is geared for getting mens attention only. Sex sells!
The most disturbing thing to me though is seeing girls that are in the 8th grade, only a grade above my oldest child (son) and they're dressed like hooker Snow White, short skirted dress and low cut cleavage. RIDICULOUS! I wouldn't allow my daughter to walk out of the house in something like that at 13 - 14 years of age but whatever!

Well Halloween is about dressing up, and some women just like to look hot, whether its the hot nurse/cop/maid etc.....This year Im being a sexy student..lol...the thing is that alot of women feel dorky dressing up as an animal. Halloween is the only time of the year when women really get a chance to dress up as anything they want without being critisized, its all in good fun, and alot of the woman who dress sexy on halloween dont dress like that all year.

DUDE! We have been talking about that at work for four days! No woman has on a regular costume--it's not a bride, it's slutty bride. It's not a baseball player, it's slutty baseball player. I guess they really need the attention. I didn't really feel like dressing up this year, but if I would have, I would have been pretty much covered. Guess I wouldn't have fit in.
Incidentally, why do loose girls always think everyone else is jealous of them? We all have the same stuff; just some of us don't put it on display and offer it up to every guy who comes along. We are not that desperate for attention.

Because it's part of the freedom of dressing up. Being in costume is almost like not being yourself for a night. So if you normally don't dress trashy, it's a "Safe" time to let that side of you come out. To let your hair down so to say.
You don't see men running around in a banana hammock because in general men don't have to worry about being called a sl** or whore when they display their sexuality. So most men don't really have that repressed side to let out via a costume.

I totally agree with you. But as sad as it sounds, It's more of a male related decision. Girls want to impress men or boys. The sad part is, they don't realize that they will not attract a man who respects them by wearing those costumes or that style in general. It's really sad actually. But it sounds like you have your head in the right place. Just stay true to your morals

A good question! I was at my son's Halloween School Disco tonight and even the young girls were looking on the slutty side of decent! All the boys were blood and gore and the girls were wearing lots of makeup and shiny clothes and someone in their wisdom sent their child in as a belly dancer with midriff a showin'!!!!!! Good lord!

its just to be fun the one day of the year youy get to dress slutty even if you arent and not get made fun of if they choose a different day they probably would be considered a slut girls just feel pretty in them sometimes and sometimes girls dress slutty on christmas to i personally wont go that far

I think that there are many different reasons why, no one size fits all, sort of thing.
However, I think a big reason is some women just want to dress skanky and not be criticized for it one time. It is a different form of sexy and it is all done in fun.
