I am a sophomore in high school, but I want to start looking into some schools now. I might want to pursue a career in acting, What are some good universities? Is Colombia a good one? please help!

There are great theatre programs in many universities. In Chicago, do with Northwestern. In New York City, NYU; in NY state, Cornell is good. Carnegie Mellon or Temple in PA, Of course, Yale Drama is prestigious and so is Juliard, but thesse are for people who can also pay for the name. In truth, you can go anywhere for your undergraduate work and concentrate on a place like Pace University (The Actor's Studio) for the Master of Fine Arts (MFA). It is where you do your advanced work that matters most. You'll receive other names of schools if you choose fine and performing arts on your PSAT questionaire this year. Make sure you put theatre down and you'll get info from lots of places based on your scores. No matter what you choose to do, concentrate on building the best foundation for a career in acting that you can and be honest about your ability.

What, you don't have school counsellors? Very few schools are any good for acting training, because most schools just want you to be enrolled so they can get more funding. The best schools are hard to get into, require auditions, accept few new students each year, and have a showcase for agents and casting directors for their graduating seniors. There are your yardsticks, now use them or weep.
