Because fish reproduce, and if managed properly, we can keep the catch below the replenishment rate.

Think of it like this:

If the there are 50 fish, and every week 3 more fish are born, and you take 3 fish a week, then the population remains constant.

If you take 2 fish a week, the population climbs.

If you take 4 fish a week, the population falls, but if you cut back to 2, the population climbs.

Thus, the resource (fish) is renewable.

geography speaking fish are spread over vast distances. There are multiple kinds of fish and they all eat the same abundance material. either other fish or underwater plants.
Because of their vast population in certain parts of water they have a higher chance to find mates and reproduce.

FISH BREED AND MAKE MORE FISH AND IF YOU FEED THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS THEY WILL GROW A POUND OR SO YEARLY AND MAKE MORE FISH AS THEY GROW AND YOU EAT SOME AND SAVE SOME FOR BREEDING STOCK. YUMMY.
