i dont. why is that dad's are "meant" to teach you? is it like some sort of bonding excercise?

Funny you should ask, I just taught my five year old two days ago, and yes I am the dad. I suppose I chose to teach him because I can help him (manage his weight and the weight of the bike) while riding at the same time. I also took a different approach to teaching him; I bought a bike and rode next to him while holding his bike upright and coaching him through at the same time. Truth be told, I didn't think about the "bonding" aspect of it until now, but I suppose riding with another adult (regardless who it is) is a form of bonding. It was an interesting experience with a little bit of pain, but it worked.

I know how to ride a bike and its not some sort of bonding excercise.

My Dad didn't teach me to ride a bike. I learned, when I was seven and it was a girlfriend, who showed me. It was much more fun that way, when I wrecked. Dad's are good at most things, but girls kiss much better. Peace!

Yeah, I do. My mom, my dad, and my grandma all collaborated to teach me, so it doesn't have to be your dad.
