Yes, it called Depo Provera. You get it once every 3 months.
I loved it. It's as effective as the Pill. A good side effect is that it stopped my periods but a bad side effect was that it causes you to gain about 2 punds a year.

yes it's the depo shot. there are also other alternatives now. You can get the shot, take a pill, wear the patch, or now there are intrauterine devices. Just figure out what makes you comfortable.

Yes, but I do NOT recommend it. I was on the depo shot for a year, and I gained 36 pounds and became a total hormonal nut-case and was depressed out of my mind.

Unfortunately its still being administered though a majority of women suffer horrible health risks because of it.
Its called Depo Provera, and is administered every twelve weeks.

yes. i just recently got off the shot cause it was (and still is) hurting me so bad. i eat all the time, im crabby, ive been on my period for almost 3 weeks now...its horrible! so im now switching to a low hormone birth control.
