Is that what you think the military wants. The presidents daughters running around Iraq?
Didn't work out well for the Queens grand son, did it?
Laura Bush is a rock.

Down through the ages women have accepted and dealt with the embarrassment their husbands cause and borne the burden with quiet dignity. Laura is no different. As to the twins volunteering, are you really interested in seeing a dozen secret service men surrounding them at boot camp and in the war zone? Look how much of a mess it was for Prince William to serve in the area.

Laura Bush has nothing to be ashamed of. She doesn't go around talking bad about people . She has stood by Americans even though some people are always slinging mud. If you knew 1/3 of the facts you would not be talking bad about someone that you know absolutely nothing about!

Probably for the same reason Hillary has not been embarassed by all the things Bill has done.
The Bush girls just plain didn't feel like doing that.

Because she is very proud, as she should be.
You are funny.
You believe that the Bush girls should go fight.
But.... bet you never complain about the Draft-Dodging Coward, Bill Clinton.

I think she did, about four years ago, she hasn't cracked a forehead since.
Neither of the Bush girls have volunteered because they are way too good for the rest of us.
One wrote a book about the effects of AIDS on a teen.
Maybe her Daddy should have not just insisted on teaching kids abstinence.
Neither does Romney's five, healthy sons, not one of them ever thought of serving their country in uniform either. And with their pull they could have gone to one of the academies and become an officer.
Maybe they all take after Cheney, he had "other priorities".

I am sure that it must be almost as embarrassing for the current First Lady to be married to the current incumbent as it was for her immediate successor to be married to an exposed adulterer. We don't make it easy for the families of our elected leaders, do we?
Being married to a drunk whose geography is as flawed as his mathematics must be difficult. Being married to an adulterer must be emotionally very painful. These are bad enough without public attention, and the First Ladies have had to endure a lot of that from gleeful comedians like Rush Limbaugh and Jon Stewart.
Perhaps we should be a little more gracious?

Why would Mrs. Bush be embarrassed, she isn't married to Bill?
As for your other question, you'd have to ask them.
