I'm doing an essay on evolution vs. creationism for my english class, my standpoint being for evolution. My professor wants us to lean more towards books and academic journals rather than the internet, which is understandable, but she has limited us to only using 2-3 resources. Can anyone recommended the best, most informative books/journals on the subject? Thanks in advance.

For the evolution/creation argument, I would recommend Eugenie C. Scott's 'Evolution vs Creation', Richard Dawkin's 'The Blind Watchmaker', and the Kitzmiller vs Dover trial documents - court transcripts and the judge's decision when intelligent design and creation were put on trial a few years ago. Very illuminating - you can find them here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitzmiller_v._Dover_Area_School_District .

There are hundreds of scientific journals on the many topics in evolution, but that's probably a lot more technical than you want to get.

Go to the library and check out old copies of Nature. It is a scientific journal that features lots of stuff on evolution.
