* I am an American woman & I can't answer your question from a man's perspective! I do know that there are an awfully lot of men who hit their women & more! There are also women who beat on their men! That doesn't make it right!
My husband loses his temper & hits, throws things, and punches*
The physical injuries heal but the emotional side effects never heal*
Life is never the same after that first time as you always wonder when it will happen again....................And it will happen again!

I wouldn't hesitate to hit a woman if she was attacking my child, but I would hesitate to hit her if she were attacking me. However, I would be less reluctant to hit the lady who lives next door to me who calls the cops if my car bumper is hanging over the sidewalk a couple inches, and takes pictures of my back yard if she doesn't like what she sees and wants to file a complaint. It's not like she's an old lady, either. She's a frickin' monster. With this kind of provocation leading up to an attack by her... I'd be the opportunity I've been waiting for. To say that a guy who hits a female in this circumstance is not a man is just ridiculous, cliche, middle-brow machismo morality in my opinion.

Give me all the thumbs down you want. I stand by what I said. I don't think I should have to restrain myself from hitting a woman who hits my child, who, by the way, is much weaker than her (my son is 14 months old), and I don't think women should have free reign to hit men without fear of retribution. Sorry if you find that offensive, but the only people who need to worry about it are women who are violent.

Oh -- and I pick a conditional #3 and a conditional #5, and I'm in the U.S. (Chicago).

Most men I know won't hit a woman unless she has done something really terrible like beat him upside the head with a rod iron.

I have heard a guy say if a woman acts like a man she'll get treated like a man. Sounds pretty fair to me. I've gotten my 120 pound *** in some fights with some pretty big guys, and won. :)

It happens a lot. A lot of women don't do anything wrong and don't deserve it. The men who do hit and abuse women find ways to justify it. I know now that there is no justification.

its wrong to hit a woman .But if shes trying to kill u then you have the right to kick her butt and knock her out til the cops com especially if the lady is using a weapon, like a knife, gun .I mean would you stand there and let someone kill you .An I know that when a life is in danger it don't matter if you're male or female or Black , White, Mexican, Asian , Arabic , etc. You're gonna defend yourself .THANK YOU

only during relations. MY WIFE IS A FREEEEEK! no seriously, only if my life was threatened. I was smart enough to choose a lady who will not succumb to violence. Oh i used to hit my sister alot when we were growing up but thats a different story.
