As a personal idea, I'd do something like animal testing or stop killing the enviornment because there is a LOT of information about these topics online.

Also, if you want to do something very original, do a persuasive speech AGAINST an issue, like a world-wide currency or something.

Personally, I'd stay away from ethical issues. Some of these strong topics could be disturbing to some kids, I've had this problem too. I'm in high school and was going to do a speech on parenting, but chose not to because quite a few of the kids in my class had divorced parents and I felt bad dissing their parents' decision.

Anyway, good luck on your speech, I hope you get a good grade!

You could write about why America should do its best to be a responsible world leader. Your main points could be spreading democracy, eliminating terrorism, and being a good role model for developing countries. I'm not sure how long your essay needs to be, but hopefully one of these ideas will work. Pretty much anything dealing with America's principles will help your grade. Good luck. Hope I helped.

I had to do that. I used the idea of video games affecting intelligence is not real. Other:
-Why you should / shouldn't have a pet
-Why you shuold / shuoldn't have H.W.
-Why you should be able to do something you want (party, movies etc.)
Anything you want to do that your parents probably wouldn't let you do is fine. My topic got me a 100. Just talked about it not being proven scientifically.

that is a boring topic in my opinion, is there a choice?? personally I think there are so many more interesting things in this world like politics, and what the world is coming to. but alright, you do not have to worry about pleasing someone, but rather worry about yourself.. you are not distracted, and you can be lonely but only a fool would allow themselves to depend on others to be happy. one must be able to be happy on their own first. you must be in highschool right?? in your case, being single is very beneficial because you will save yourself the heartbreak and teenage angst. but being with someone can bring you memories you would never forget, and all in all make your day better each time you think about them:]:] and see them.. there is no arguing with that.
