The father of my child is african american. He wants to name our baby a really unique name. In other words something that he will have to spell out and correct people on the pronounciation for the rest of his life. Me and my side of the family are white. I don't mind the baby having a unique name but not something totally ghetto or complicated. I like the name Zachariah but he hates it. He likes the name Marzon but I hate that. I'm due in 2 weeks... Any ideas would help.

These are some male names that I found searching African names: (various languages)
Kayin "celebrated child"
Daren "born at night"
Jabari "brave, stronghearted"
Malik "king"
Taye "he has been seen"
Tomi "the people"

Those were some names that seemed like americans would be able to pronounce properly...maybe not what you're looking for, but keep looking! Maybe make a deal with him that you will look for African names you like if he looks for American names he likes?

How about making a list of fairly unique names that are easy to spell and pronounce....let him go over the list and see if there are any that he likes. This way he has a few options of names that you like and are also not too common.
How about:

Roman
Bishop
Lincoln
Lawson
Mathis
Arwen
Tucker
Gabriel
Paulson
Gaige

Hope this helps = )

My son is mixed too. I named him Isaiah, however his middle name is Malik and Kehalie. I loved both of those names, or what about Katif, or Jihad, or Jaylen. I love these names and they are unique. Good luck, and congrats. I am sure you guys will find a name you can both agree on.

Zion - my fave (kinda combines your two favorite names: Zechariah and Marzon)
Elijah
Zayden
Ezekiel
Jayden
Jeremiah
Kyle
Ryan
Cory
Troy
Josiah
Joshua
Malachi
Noah

:)

Maybe, make a combination name of your name and his name for something unique for your baby boy! God Bless...

I am sure there is a compromisable name out there. I think I would offer to him Ezekiel. I like Ezekiel alot and think it has good nickname potential.
