Have you ever gone trick-or-treating, and had you candy stolen while trick-or-treating? When did candy steeling start hapenning? When I was a little kid, I never experienced my candy being stole while I was trick-or-treating. One year it happened to my brother. For the people who are candy thiefs on Trick-or-treat night, do you see them as greedy people? What should you do if this happens to you?

Is it true, that trick-or-treating was more safe back in the 1970's and earlier then? I want to see what you all say. Thank you.

I've never had my candy stolen, except from my sisters. lol I haven't been trick-or-treating in over 12 years though. Things change so quickly.

People who "steal" candy from children are terrible. Just terrible. If any kid tries to take candy from my kids, I'd grab them by the back of their shirt and drag them to their parents. Then I'd give their parents an earful about teaching their kids a little respect! Then I'd probably get my own *** chewed out and the police would be invovled. lol

Some of my kids had their candy stolen one year...then I needed to turn off all lights and noise in the house and make believe we weren't home--so they could have the candy I bought for other trick-or-treaters. That was a very tearful year...they had worked soooo hard.

in the 70's we had tht too, but lucky me, I had 3 older brothers that would kick a** and F those people up and I grew up in on of the most affluent areas of southern california, Pacific Palisades. it is Beverly Hills on the Ocean.
so yes we had some stupid, moronic kids that would egg us and beat us if we diddnt give up our LOOT! haha! so know its not new and its not a thing that only happens in certain areas.
I have lways thought that any trick or treating should be safe but unfortunatly you need to have those that can stand guard doing it with you, and I loved standing guard while my kids where trick or treating cause I would stand back on the street and let my kids go loosse and if anyone came up and screwed with them BOOM i and my bros would poop and SCARE the crap out of them, haha isnt that what its all abotu scareing anyone, even if the f with you!!! ahhaa!

i've never had mine stolen(i'm one of the punks with a pillow case and evil looking costume with eggs and Toiliet paper) but i've stolen from my little cousins who took from other kids and kids(no little little, i'm not that mean). only the ones that annoy me though. i usually hit up about 5 neighboorhoods. at a minimum, more depending on who i'm with. yeah, i think it was safer way back then cause now ppl poison the candy and all and everything.(i sell, not eat. ^_^)

I think it was far safer in the old days, kids could go out unsupervised, whereas nowadays parents often accompany them.
