There's really TONS of options. Two of my friends went as Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn from "Batman". They were cute and won 1st place in a costume contest.

My ideas for two opposing costumes for two girls from a musical are Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked The Musical. My fr4iend and I were the two girls last year, and it was REALLY cute!
