and it asks me for the
Name, City and State of the local newspaper in your area?
what should i put new york has lots of newspaper
well i live in queens new york
what should i put?

Why not just put the NY Times

If Queens has a weekly newspaper that everyone gets, then put that. If not, then you could put any local newspaper that you'd like. Heck, you could put the Post or the Times, if you wanted, but something more local would be preferable.
They want to know to which newspaper they should send things like, if you made the Dean's List, or end up winning some academic honor, etc.

They ask that so that if you get any special honors they can distribute it to your local newspaper for your friends and family. Just put down your favorite newpaper. The NYT isn't likely to print anything so I would go with a smaller publication. If you don't care about being put in the paper then it doesn't really matter and I think they have to get you to sign a statement later on saying that it is ok anyway.
