Is there any way that I can keep spiders from making webs? I have a stairs that lead to my front door and there are always webs strung across the stairs... I even have the same problem on my back deck with my sliding glass doors.

I wouldnt mind the webs if they werent in the place where I have to walk through them.

Is there a way to stop the spiders from making webs in that particular area?

Thanks!

OG is probably correct. Anything you buy OTC won't be residual so as soon as it evaporates the chemistry is gone. An exterminator will be able to spray something residual. You may only need a Spring and Fall spray though.

The spiders are trapping insects. They need to build webs to do that. The webs may be a small inconvenience, but the good they do out weighs that. Why not just give them a break? Have you ever looked at their webs with morning dew on them? They are works of art. Truely amazing engineering work.

The best you can do for this problem is to have a pest control company come monthly to spray for insects. Spiders need webs to trap their pray. Personally, I have a feather duster that I use outside for that reason.
