It is NOT normal. If you have given a fever reducer and more than 1/2 hour has passed call a doctor immediately!

If her fever has not come down at all and it's still that high then she should be taken to a doctor or back to the hospital. Tylenol can be given every 4 hours and children's Motrin can be given every 6 hours, but you should check with her doctor just to make sure before you do it.
Try giving her a cool bath. Not cold, just lukewarm. Let her wear nothing but a diaper and a t-shirt. It's not a good thing for her temp to be that high very long.

I don't know how many times I went through this with my son, the first year with him was temperatures that came with ear infections. If my son had a high temp I would strip him down to nothing but his diaper, give him tylenol and wash him down with a cool sponge. The temp would usually subside, but when the temp came back before he could have more tylenol then I knew something was up. Keep her dressed cool if dressed at all, giver her tylenol, that should be good for about 6 hours, if she kicks up a temp say in 4 hours again, take her back to the doctor. Keep trying to push liquids so she doesn't dehydrate, don't worry about the eating if she doesn't want to, the liquids is the important thing when running a temp.

sometimes Motrin will work better than Tylenol..also lots of fluids & rub them down with a cold wash rag about every 10-15 min...if she keeps having fever that high that won't go down then you need to take her back to the doctor. A continuous high fever can cause brain damage, when my son was about a year old he got a high fever like that, that kept coming & going and he ended up going into convultions, luckily he didn't have long term effects from it,but he was lucky...i'm not trying to scare you, just keep a close eye on her.

When my daughter was five month she got a fever I brought supositoris for infants and I put one in her but. The halp the fever go down faster. Its not good to give an infant to much over the counter drugs like tylenol their immune system cant really tolerate it. Definitely dont give infant motrin it shreds the stomach lining. Try the sopositiories and dilute the next two bottles.

I like to use liquid Motrin it takes the fever down faster and help with the aches and pains.Just read the label and use as directed. A luke warm bath helps also and plenty of liquids and rest. You Don;t want the fever to get much higher than 103 and 104 is a trip to the ER.

You can give her more Tylenol in 4-6 hours (whatever the bottle says). Try giving her a cooling bath. It's a bath that's not very hot at all. Just warm enough and that should help bring her temperature down. Give her plenty of fluids. Good luck! If it goes back up, definitely call the doctor.

Continue with the tylenol.
Give the baby a cool bath for about 20 minutes in the tub.
Put a cool washcloth over the baby's head.
Dress the baby warm.

Tylenol, but I's say go back if her fever doesn't break soon. Or go somewhere else. That is really, very high for a baby. Do not take this as it is no big deal. Hydrate her also. Lots of water.

Babies generally have a 1 degree higher temp. If it lasts for more than 1 day I would call the doctor. Try baby motrin and tylenol. Be careful though because they have recalled a lot of those medicines due to overdose.
