Good for him. Why should his religion be relevant to how much I like his books? I have read books by The Dahli Lama, The Pope, Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare, Charles Darwin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, George Mason, Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, etc..., books by scientists, politicians, entrepreneurs...

well he was neither mine nor beloved by me, but a great writer who helped make social changes by bring attention to the public of many ills that the poor and innocent suffered.

i am not sure what your point is, he still believed in God, Good and a social conscience. what point are you trying to make with such sarcasm?

Well, that changes my whole philosophy. Matter of fact, that one story is the entire basis of my core belief system. Now that you have debunked it I may have to rethink my faith in believer's baptism, my personal relationship to Jesus, and my church affiliation. Indeed, sir, you have rocked my world as a Christian.

What does that have to do with anything? Unitarians still believe in God, Jesus Christ and Christmas.

Didn't know this, but raises my opinion of him . . . explains his unusual concern and kindness toward those of his characters who were poor, handicapped or otherwise disadvantaged.
