Just bought a graphics card for my gateway desktop..do i need to disable the intel chipset that came with the computer? the new card is a PCI card and i don't see another card so i assume the chipset stuff is built in.

no you dont just insert it in the appropriate pci slot. the chipset doesnt need to be altered in any way to do this. also some cards require drivers via disk or internet download. the two are comatible

The Intel chipset would most likely be built into the motherboard. Check to see if the VGA (or DVI) port is on the motherboard. Just pop in the card and plug the monitor into it and then install drivers with the CD that came with it.

You need to ensure in BIOS that graphics priority is PCI so that it will be enabled during booting. Then install its driver once you are in Windows.
