No Marx wasn't poor. He was one of the most influential political thinkers of the last century and is still relevant today. Without Marx there would be no payed holiday,no American new deal and no 40 hour work week. Capitalism gave some things up out of fear for Marxism which they currently are working hard to take back but that's not the point. Marx changed the world, also in America and Westren Europe. The Stalinist countries from the moment Stalin took over had nothing to do anymore with the theories of Marx.

Read Engels about the State of the Working Class in England.
Perhaps a more practical approach to what needed a change.
Most US-american cliches here about socialism are just silly.

That is just absurd. It would be just as easy to say Hitler's hatred of the Jews was brought about through being constantly tired due to anaemia as he was a vegetarian.
And how very like a conservative - those with a debilitating illness DESERVE to be poor and get no help whatsoever.

Marx was a man who saw the plight of the worker and in a stupor came up with his plan. Not unlike GWB.

Frankly, I think clogged glands and repression would explain a lot about the way socialists in general think.

He should have smoked the herb. THC would have made him much more meticulous and therefore precise in his writing so we wouldn't have to struggle with this issue on Yahoo Answers today.
