Jonesy scares me. When he's on, he is on....but ya never know what is going to happen with him.
You have to look at what he wants too, Dombrowski is a smart man. He will do what is right.
personally I think Zumaya is ready for the closers role; he has the mentality needed for that job. Give it him now while he's still young, and if it doesnt work out The Tigers have ways to figure something out.
Right now, if Jones leaves via Free Agency it wouldnt bother me too too much.

Disagree. Todd Jones will be 40 years old when the season starts next year and I believe this year was the start of a down hill slide for him. He finished with a 4.26 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. Zumaya had some injury problems but still had a 1.19 WHIP and hitters only hit .189 against him. I don't believe Jones has enough left in the tank to carry the Tigers next year while Zumaya is a player on the rise. I believe the Tigers should give Zumaya his shot at closing next year and see if he can handle the job.

I think that they should let Todd Jones go. They need to let Zumaya be a closer. He needs to experience the pressure so he can improve to his potential. Like said above Jones is going downhill as his age keeps going up. The Tigers need to sign guys that can get the ball to the 9th where Zumaya will blow 95-102mph or lower heat.

Zumaya has already shown signs of his body breaking down due to his delivery and speed of pitches. You better re-sign Jones as Zumaya will return to the DL many more times.

Sign him for 1 more year and he sucks halfway through it then give the ball to Zumaya to see what he can do in that position.

I think you are crazy. You can not win a world series with either Todd Jones or Joe Borowski as your closer.
Cleveland and Detroit really need to figure this fact out fast.

There's at least 2 or 3 teams Jones hasn't played for yet in his career. Give him a chance to hit all 30 of them before he hangs them up!
