Loud persistant squeaking indicates terror and pain. Get some sort of tall, narrow container, tip it at an angle, and put arromatic food inside. If it doesn't die from poison, it will attempt to get the food but won't be able to climb back out. Here you can release it into a forest or just stomp on it.

Peanut, mice do not squeak when they eliminate waste.

Mice squeak all the time. They squeak when they're making babies on your kitchen counter at night, they squeak when they're talking to each other, they squeak all the time. I had one that evaded all the traps and I finally switched to poison, and it pretty much started wandering aimlessly around in the middle of the room and just lay there. If it ate the poison, it's just a matter of hours before it keels over. It'll either die in the walls and stink for a long time, or it'll die where you can get to it and get it out of there before you have to worry about the stench.

yes it is painful for them, if you guys have anymore mice problems, check behind your fridge or stove, make sure there isn't a hole in the wall, use dryer sheets in all small corners of the house, they dont like them, mouse traps, and i have recently found a mouse trap that is metal (10 dollars) and it has a trap door when i the mouse gets in there. just put peanut butter and poison inside, i already caught 3 mice in 2 days...

Rat poison used to have a "blood anticoagulent"...that lead to fatal internal bleeding. I don't know if it has the same ingredient anymore. From what I know....I wouldn't think it would be a painful way to go. I vote for traps over poison...just to have control of the corpse.

Sorry you are distracted with this...can you study at a library? then come home to go to bed?

It could be pain, or fighting with other mice or maybe its bored. They squeek just like dogs bark, cats meow and so on...

It will probably take morethan a day to get rid of it. They are smarter than you think. Plus just because you set traps doesnt mean they will 100% go for it. Its like fishing. Just gotta wait till you get a bite.

mice are sooo cute! I have two as pets. They are squeeking because they are laughing at their plans to put the poison in your coffee.
Put duct tape in every little hole in your house (pipes etc.) Plug up any crevises int he walls. Get rid of any food that is not sealed in a plastic thick container or tin box. Do not leave any food out at all! Get rid of their places to hide (tape off) and food and they will go else where.

Please don't be associated with putting down poison for mice - of course if would be an agonising death & cause squeaks - mice should be left to live their lives - if you put all food safely away they will not steal food or come to do other damage. good luck.
