among major European capitals,

is it London, Berlin, Amsterdam, or another big capital?

They call Prague the Paris of Eastern Europe. Both cities have each a river running through their centre and this is crossed over by beautiful bridges. The views across the Siene and the Vltava aways have a romantic feel.

You can completely remove Berlin from this list. Berlin looks nothing like Paris.

All of them have rivers running through them.

I say London and Paris have a lot in common in looks. Same size of buildings, same age of buildings, same mix of older and newer, as many buildings that are special like churches and monuments. Paris and London are on the same scale, size wise, with many sub-urbs and a central town divided in districts, rather than one central small town that is the center of all of the town.

I have not been in Prague, but the photos I have seen do look like Paris too, but the scale of the town is rather different.

Amsterdam does not look like Paris at all, completely different way of building, even the sub-urbs look different.
