Set up a proportion for each one
25/100 = 28/x
20/100 = x/650
x/100 = 0.15/210
150/100 = x/26

solve for x to get your answer :)

Sorry if this is wrong! My mat hskills are a little rusty... and my daughter hasn't done these since last year, and forget how!

Tip: It is always IS over OF in a problem. The number after the word IS goes on top of the fraction. The percent is over 100. And everything comes down to an equation on math.

25% of what is 28.
Make it into a proportion. (/ means the fraction bar)
25/100 = 28/x
Make into an equation by cross multiplying and solve for x.
25x = 2800
Divide each side by 25.

what is 20% of 650
Change 20% into a decimal by moving the decimal point 2 places to the left. .20
Then to .20 x 650.

what percent of 210 is 0.15
x/100
The IS is .15. The OF is 210.
x/100 = .15/210
Cross multiply to turn it into an equation and solve for x.
100 times 0.15. x times 210.

what is 150% of 26
Chance 150% into a decimal. 1.50
multiply 1.50 and 26.

There you go! I hope I did those right... I didn't give you the answer, but just narrowed it down.

Good luck.

if 28 is going to be 25/100 of x, then x would be 100/25 times 28, it means x=4 times 28=112.
20%=20/100=1/5 and obviously 1/5 of 650 is 130.
let x percent of 210 to be 0.15, it implies that x/100 times 210 is equal to 0.15 or x.210=15, so x=15/210=1/14.
150%=150/100=1.5 and 1.5 times 26 is equal to 39.

are these enough or you want more explanation?

To find 25% of what is 28, you just need to multiply 28 by 100 and then divide it by 25. Doing that gives you 112.

Well 20% of 650 is simply 650 * 20 / 100 = 130

To find what percent of 210 is .15, you need to multiply .15 by 100 and then divide the result by 210. It'll be around .07%

150% of 26 is 26 * 150 / 100 = 39.

The hardest part of these problems is turning the words into an equation. Look through the problems below to see how to do it.

PROBLEM 1:

25% --> 25/100
of --> times
what --> n
is --> equals
28 --> 28

(25/100)n = 28
Reduce the fraction:
(1/4)n = 28

Multiply both sides by 4:
n = 28 * 4
n = 112

Answer: 112

PROBLEM 2:

What --> n
is --> equals
20% --> 20/100 (or 1/5)
of --> times
650 --> 650
n = (1/5)650
n = 130

Answer: 130

PROBLEM 3:

What percent --> n/100
of --> times
210 --> 210
is --> equals
0.15 --> 0.15

(n/100) * 210 = 0.15

Multiply both sides by 100:
n * 210 = 15

Divide both sides by 210
n = 15/210
n = 5/70
n = 1/14

Answer = (1/14)%

PROBLEM 4:
What --> n
is --> equals
150% --> 150/100 (or 3/2)
of --> times
26 --> 26

n = (3/2) 26
n = 3 * 13
n = 39

Answer: 39

.25x=28 , x is equal to the # you are lookin for. x=28/.25 or 112.

20% is .20and 20% of 650 is .20 X 650 or130.

what percent is equal to x, so x times 210 =.15. 210x=.15
x=.15/210=.000714 or.0714%.

150% of 26 is equal to1.50 times 26 thats 1.5 X 26

Remember a percentage is the decimal equivalent of a number when we take the decimal point away. so 10 percent is equal to .10, one percent is .01 and 100 percentnt is 1.00 ;just take the percentage number and move the decimal point 2 places to the left of the last digit of the percentage. That gives you the decimal equivalent.

25% of 112 is 28 (28*4=112) or [28/(25/100)]
20% of 650 is 130 (650*0.20) or [650*(20/100)]
0.07142% of 210 is 0.15 [(0.15/210)*100]
150% of 26 is 39 [26*(150/100)]

25% is the same as 1/4 , so 4 times 28 gives the answer ,
( 112 )

20% is the same as 1/5 , so 650 divided by 5 gives the answer. ( 130 )

I did those two in my head - the third one is tougher !
the answer is 0.15/2.1 or 0.07143% ( rounded to 5 significant digits ) - are you sure that question is worded correctly ?

150% is 1.5 , so 1.5 times 26 is 39 .

You have to times the opposite. Look, of means times. If you see 4 of 5, it means, four times five.

25 % of WHAT, means
25 % of X=28
25% means 0.25 or 1/4. 4*28=112

This means that 112 times 25% is 28.

X is 20% of 650. 0.2*650=130

Think about substituting what with X and Percent with a decimal. Also, of replace with times. good luck!!!

percents are easy. use proportions. percents always go over 100 and other numbers fall into place. the setup for the first one is: (28 / x ) = (25 / 100 ) so multiply x by 25 and 28 by 100
then: 25x = 2800 ; divide both sides by 25 to get x by itself and...
x = 112 and thats the missing number. and thats how u do percents w/proportions. easy huh. just setup the other problems in a proportion just remember percents always over 100 and the other side will either be some# divided by x or x divided by some#. this method can also be used to find the percent. in that case x will go over 100
