You've just asked an "open-ended" ques. There are many different factors that cause a headache: neck tension, sinus pressure, vertebra in the neck out of place, weather, stress, food allergies, pinched nerves in the neck, or getting hit in the head (Ha!). You've been given some good advice here, such as: neck, head, and temple massage, a cool rag on the forehead or neck, etc. Meds can help, but not always. And, some can give you bad side-effects, and none are really good for you. Most headaches are due to muscular tension, so getting a neck massage can often reduce or eliminate the headache. There is an effective acupoint you can press that can get rid of a headache. Press the small indention in the webbing of the hand just below the joining of the two bones that come from the thumb & index finger. These bones are called the metacarpals. Hold this point, if it's tender, with firm pressure until the tenderness begins to go away, then increase pressure. It should take between 5 sec. - 120 sec. for the headache to go away. Don't press this point on a pregnant woman. Do something else. Good luck!
