Don't generalize. I love it when a woman can hold her own in life. It shows integrity, beauty AND strength.
Personally, my mom makes the most money in the house. Close to $30,000/per year.
She's the only one who works currently.
16 y.o. is a Junior in HS, I'm 22 unemployed (but looking) and my 26 y.o. brother works at a local furniture store. He moved out nearly 3 years ago though. >_<

I'm a gay man, so there really isn't a stupid stereotype that "the man should make the money" or something.
My husband makes more than I do though. I'm a teacher and he is the manager of an ad agency so, yeah.

I make more than my fiance and I've been employed longer than him (he didn't work for almost a year). He spends his money on the major bills like rent and weed to make up for all the time he didn't work and I spend my money on groceries and rentway. It works out fine.

Personally, I don't think it should matter. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is very traditional and wouldn't like it too much if I made more money than him because he believes, as the man, he should be the main supporter.

I used to make the most money in our house and it did not bother either of us. Now I am retired and he makes the most no big deal. Whatever works.

I wish my wife was the bread winner. I would love to stay home as long as she would do the dishes. That is the one chore I will never do.
