You have created a VPN connection on your computer that is trying to connect.

Open MY NETWORK PLACES and choose NETWORK CONNECTIONS and remove any VPN connections or dialup connections that you don't need/use.

This problem occurs because the First Connect option is selected in Virtual Private Connection to use a Dial-up Connection and the Dial-up Connection has been deleted.

To work around this problem: 1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up Connections.
2. Right-click the Virtual Private Connection in question, and then click Properties.
3. Select the "Dial another connection first" check box, and then select the appropriate Dial-up connection from the drop-down list box. If there is no Dial-up connection to choose from in this location, you may have to create a Dial-up connection and then repeat these steps.

If your Virtual Private Network connection does not depend on a Dial-up Connection, verify that the "Dial another connection first" check box is clear, and then click OK.

You seem to have a Dial up connection configured on your computer along with the broadband connection. Launch Internet Explorer, click on Tools>>Internet Options>>Connections and select "Never dial a connection". Click Apply>>OK

If you are using Windows XP Click on Start>>Control Panel>>Network Connections, check if any icon is there under Dial up connection sub heading. Right click on the icon and delete it. This must fix the problem

Sounds like you need to reinstall your sound driver. If you still have the CD that came with your computer, it should be on there. If not, you may need to find it online. Also, you can try installing the latest version of directx. If those don't work, there may be something wrong with directx itself, in which case, you might be able to uninstall it an install an older version. Can't say for sure if this will work, I've never had that problem.
