NO! Sound needs a medium to propagate its waves and space is a vacuum without atmosphere. Sound will not travel in a vacuum.

THere can be atmosphere and no sound.
Sound is the act of something being there to hear it. So if no life with ears exists in the environment then no sound, its just movemnet of particles.
However, space is not an atmosphere in the traditional sense, yet it contains a little bit of hydrogen. If you wanted to, you could send a message through these sparse hydrogen particles but no-one would hear it so its no sound, just movement of particles.

Even on a planet with no atmosphere sound can still travel through the ground. Sound can move in any kind of material not just air.

Of course there can be. Sound travels in solids just as well as in gases. So on a planet without an atmosphere there will be plenty of sound traveling in the soil and rock.
If you are on a space ship without air, you can still "hear through the walls".

I could answer this, but since this is for school....did you consider doing your own homework rather than coming to Yahoo Answers and have other people do it for you?
Just a suggestion so that you can learn on your own.

Sound has to travel through a medium, like air or water.
If there is no medium (like in space) sound cannot be transmitted.
