I was reading on Yahoo! news that Argentina has elected Cristina de Kirchner as it's next President. So I am wondering is Argentina a much more progressive country than the United States?

Of course not. Let me tell you somethings that are happening here in argentina, wich are not in the newspapers, they try to cover it up.
Santa Cruz, the province where Kirchners were rulers, is having a huge represion to the workers in the oilfields, criminal acting, as going to pick them up by the police as civilian in the middle of the night in their houses and interrogated in god knows where.
In chubut the police had been sent to repress teachers, thats right, teachers who were asking to have a sallary bigger than 400 pesos (basic familiar budget is about 1000)
A senator (afilliated to the rulling party, kirchners) had a manifestation in the door of his house (because of the killing of the mentioned before teacher, Fuentealba). He ran over 18 people with his 4x4. He is in liberty and has no trial on.
Progressing is not a gender, progressing is not murdering the people, not killing us by hunger for the go to shop in NY and having a plastic surgery every week. I dont care wheter is a woman or a man the one that beats you with a stick. I care about beein hitted.
If you trust what im saying run the voice in wherever you live, so at least this lie can die, and stop seeing what they want you to see

The U.S. is getting ready to elect a Mormon. That is progressive!
Pakistan had a woman Prime Minister over ten years ago. Thatcher was the PM of the U.K. twenty five years ago.
Congratulations to Argentina on their elections. But, electing females is no big deal. Don't cry for me Argentina.
