well I never really make it go off but lol ok a few years ago my mom used to cook by smoke alarm:
alarm in kitchen goes off it's done,
alarm in hallway (next 2 kitchen) goes off its well done
alarm in stairwell goes off its burnt lol
alarm in upstairs hallway goes off well then u have to try again after you replace the batteries.
But other than that my alarm never went off since my mom stopped multi tasking.

I test my smoke alarm once a month to make she it has a good battery and still works!! :-p Thats how often i test my smoke alarm

just wave the smoke away with a shirt or rag but u have to be real close to the alarm

Whenever we take a shower because it is right by the bathroom door and the steam sets it off. LOL.

Never.
But when we had one it would always go off when we were cooking supper.
So we took the batteries out of it.

Put a battery in it and then light a match below it. You will be sorry because you will then have to waft clean air in to shut it up
