Are you talking about missing the parent's curfew or the town curfew? First of all, my then 16 year old son did it twice and I took everything from him, he went to school, work and home.
The kicker was when he was caught after town curfew, which was 12 am on a Friday night, he was ticketed $288. I paid it when due, he's paying me as he works.
He thought he knew it all and was invincible, the law showed him otherwise.

I think I would talk to him and find out why he missed curfew. There could be a good reason for it. Just because he missed curfew doesn't mean he did something bad. Now if you don't like his answer, then I would probably ground him or make his curfew earlier the next time he goes out. Its really up to you. Good luck.

Whenever I missed curfew I'd get grounded period. There is always a way to call and tell someone your gonna be late. And if I didnt call I was in trouble. Thats just how I was raised though.

Curfew is very important, especially at 16. He should never be late because he should leave early to make sure he gets home on time. Ground him if he is late. And slowly make his curfew earlier, trust me he will start getting home on time.

It would depend on how responsible he has been in the past..everyone makes mistakes, but if it's ongoing, I would have to punish him...
