The main thing is to continue to learn from your past experiences as you move forward in your current life. The whole starting a new life metaphor does not mix well with me being an Atheist. So I don't think we ever start a new life, we only continue our current life.

I don't feel that I've ever started a "new" life. I've made some major changes several times, but it's still the same path I've always been on. I've had some horrific stuff happen to me, and I survived. I've had some awesome stuff happen to me, and then it ended and I survived. I've made some twists in my journey, but it's all been the same life - same journey - from start to eventual finish.
Maybe I just see things differently.....

I've done it 3 times. Packed up and moved (either for college or a new job) to a new city where I knew absolutely no one.
