Okay. It's Prom Night, and I'm sitting at this table, while everyone's dancin'. Jordan Hill's "Remember Me This Way" starts playing, and I see this friend of mine, just sitting at a table across from me. I stood up, put my coat on, walked over to her and said with a smile, "Can I have this dance?" Boy, was she beaming. No one asked her for a dance that night but me. She says she felt like she was Cinderella that night, and that it was the best (and sweetest) night of her life.

One of my fellow classmates came to the prom in a WW1 aviators outfit. He didn't have a date so to speak. He had dyed a mop head bright yellow and attached it to a wig holder having painted a face on the wig holder. He had more fun swinging his "date" around than anyone at the dance. I'll never forget this and it was over 32 years ago.

The guy I was dating at the time only had a motorcycle. At the last minute, his windbag mom would not let him borrow her car. So I had to quickly call a girlfriend and we rode in her date's car like a double date type thing. It was actually more fun than a one-on-one.
I kept picturing myself in a floor-length evening gown strattled on the back of a Honda Goldwing. It didn't quite "fit". lol

For junior prom, we rented an ice cream truck instead of a limo, and for senior prom we rented a hearse. That went over well considering I went to an all girls Catholic high school.

I was a trouble maker and got into trouble at school....I wasn't allowed to go or the school was gonna call the police and have me removed.....like I really cared
