I just learned that people are using photo editing software to make women in porn pics look younger... like way younger. I think this brings up many questions of morals and ethics. I mean, one of the reasons that downloading and sharing child porn is criminalized so severely is because it encourages an industry that exploits and harms children. But if there are no children involved, does it change? If the model is techically legal, does it become illegal to modify her picture so that she looks underage? Is this criminalizing thought?

I don't know what to think. It's horrifying. It seems like even though we have done so much and come so far with strict enforcement against sexual assault and exploitation of children, the market demand seems to keep finding new ways and loopholes to get what they want. It's sickening.

What do you think?

Yes, the law changes -- the US Supreme Court has addressed this issue several times in several different ways.

The laws against child porn only apply if an ACTUAL CHILD was used in the pornographic context.

Animation doesn't count. Clever photo editing doesn't count. Adults that look much younger than they are don't count.

The only time it counts as child porn is when an actual child is exploited -- because that's the only harm sufficiently egregious to warrant such a restriction on free speech.

That's the current law in the US. Personal feelings vary.

I'm not sure of the exact law, but I think a decision was reached at some point that altered or faked photos are not illegal. This is legal grey zone for sure, and there is plenty of room for abuse.
Part of the problem is that technology develps faster than the law can keep up with it. Also, what is worse, pornography featuring a girl over 18 who looks under? Or featuring a girl under 18 who looks over? How would you know the difference?
There are strict age proof requirements in the USA but that disappears on the international scene, where porn is made in thousands of countries with varying degrees of law enforcement, and police often paid off by pornographers.
I think the mentality was to concentrate on preventing actual exploitation of children, as it should be.

That is a very hard call, and it's a perfect example of the question of: Are we willing to give up liberty to keep us safe? If so, how much? If not, how do we solve the underlying problem? I think you could fill a shelf of books with the arguments pro and con with that particular issue.

You shouldnt have confidence him. I even have loads of associates who've been molested by using their very very own father and it has definatly ruined them emotionally and that they're now drug addicts and strippers. i'm no longer announcing this could ensue on your daughter by using any ability yet whilst it fairly is a achievable consequence then you definately would desire to get her faraway from it. I think that there is a lot of porn out there that makes me get chills thinking about people who get off on it. This prompts a broader question: Is it okay to make porn that simulates rape? What about bestiality?
