or at least hover a bit. I've seen those guys that strap wings to their arms and jump of a pier, but they don't seem to get much speed up on the flapping.

You should probably grow about 4 more arms as that;s going to take a lot of flapping.drink some of that tonic T.D. Super size said you have now; and maybe that will do the trick.I need a couple more hands also as 2 is not enough; so i;ll buy 2 more bottles of that Penfold tonic too.

The flapping is just going to screw things up. You need smooth airflow across the leading edges, not a bunch of flippy flappy whorls and eddies. So, let's see, 224 pounds is a pretty light bear, almost a Teddy, so the wing loading shouldn't be much of a problem. Teddy will need about 225 square feet of overcoat, stiffened by some brand of fur coat starch. It needs to be completely rigid, so I would recommend Viagra-Bear®, only £9.00 at your local fur shop.

Next, Mr. Bear needs about 21 mph airspeed to fly. To get this, he needs to run down a slope into a headwind. If the bear runs into a 6 mph headwind at 15 mph, he will have 21 mph airpseed and the bear will get airborne. Bear-borne, actually. Teddy will fly. Getting into the air is the easy part. Landing is different matter. Most likely Teddy will have to kiss his furry rump goodbye. I forgot to mention he should pack a chute. Damn chute costs about $850.00 so it's your call.
