If he is not into sth specific like camera or anything. Then IPOD is a good choice, I think.
Not my business, but 2,000 is a lot girl. Dont you think it is too expensive? Cant help wondering what is the budget for your parent's xmas gift.

if he doesnt have camera thn buy him one, or a mobile is good choice if he has a phone less than 2000 AED :P or u can buy him Mp3 player/Ipod...
