I personally wouldn't want to see it happen, but do you think that it is likely? If so why? Do you think it would be beneficial to one or both countries?

The USA and Canada and Mexico have been discussing this for over 2 decades. It started back in the 80's with amnesty for illegal aliens (approx. 2 million) that were allowed to stay. Then there was NAFTA, and big business' started moving operations South of the border to get cheap labor. There's a book on this that you might like to read "The Late Great USA" by Jerome Corsi. Every once in a while you here about it on conservative talk radio, but it would take a major shift in the government for this to happen, like it going bankrupt or completely falling apart. With all the illegal aliens in this country I'm sure that they are pushing for this, but unless the people here decide that their freedoms and rights are not worth anything anymore it won't happen in our lifetime.

Only if Canada does not get itself a nuclear deterrant - at some point in the future Canada will likely have something that the US wants so watch out.

Don't see why it would be so awful, but I think its Canada that doesn't want to be a part of The United States. Seems to me that was talked about before. Perhaps Mexico should be made part of The U.S., since half the country is already here anyway! Our next fearless leader should look into statehood for them!
