8 to 9 months is that transition age where they have separation anxiety and don't want to miss out on what's going on. as long as you are sure nothing else is wrong (hungry, thirsty, dirty diaper, etc) just leave her and she will give up. after a few times of giving up she won't even start the crying any more.

She will eventually lie down and sleep when she gets tired. As long as nothing is seriously wrong (not hungry, thirsty, doesn't need changing, is dressed warmly enough, etc.), you may have to steel yourself NOT to run back in the room at every sound or cry. That only reinforces that she can get you back in there any time she wants. When you hear silence, check on her and cover her with a blanket.

Make sure you lower the mattress so she won't fall out if she leans over the rail. Then just put her down and leave her for 5 minutes. If you don't keep coming back in eventually she'll lay back down and fall asleep.

She'll fall asleep -- you're just going to have to make sure she's tired and listen to her cry for a while. She'll lay down on her own......don't worry. It's normal - she knows she can stand and feels a lot of freedom because of it.....but she'll give up and fall asleep.

My little girl was the same way! I used to lay her down, and she'd sprint back up. The best thing is to just leave her in there and let her play around. I promise if you give her a few toys to play with, she will tyre herself, or cry herself to sleep.

just leave he/she in there for about 5 or 10 mins and if she is still crying then take her out and hold her and he/she will fall asleep

Just walk away and don't give in. They will tire out soon enough and go to sleep.
