The likes of AIPAC and the neocons don't want peace -they want expansion. The us backs Israel in the UN when resolutions go against it yet use UN resolutions as pretext to bring down sanctions and even invade Muslim and Arab countries. nobody in their right mind differentiates between US and Israeli policy - the only point of debate is who holds the dominant position or do they work in tandem?

Your question is ridiculous you should be asking is the US and the Israeli government stopping there being any kind of reasonable peace process and the answer is yes.
The last thing the US wants is peace in the Middle East (a peaceful Middle East means a united Middle East means they would want to control their own natural resources ie. most of the World's oil and this would be the end of the US as World Super Power) and the Israeli government is working for them so what chance is there for the Palestinians or any kind of real peace process?

As long as the US is the sole supporter of Israel, it is going to hurt us in the Middle East. However, I personally would lose sleep if we discontinue our support, but I am not naive enough to see this as a black and white issue.. I absolutely understand people who disagree with me. But I think that Israel is worth our support, especially since we have so many financial dealings with them.

Surely you jest. The muslim crazies in and around Israel are not interested in peace. They want to destroy Israel, eliminate the Jews and take over the land.
