Question

There are some bugs (magic) on Microsoft Windows and MS Office. Try them yourself.

MAGIC #1
It was discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the computer which can be named as 'CON'. This is something pretty cool...and unbelievable. . At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn't answer why this happened!
TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE ' CON ' FOLDER

MAGIC #2
For those of you using Windows, do the following:

1.) Open an empty notepad file
2.) Type 'Bush hid the facts' (without the quotes)
3.) Save it as whatever you want.
4.) Close it, and re-open it.

Isn't this a really weird bug? :-??

This is something pretty cool and neat...and unbelievable. .. At Microsoft the whole Team, including Bill Gates, couldn't answer why this happened!

Try it out yourself...

Open Microsoft Word and type

=rand (200, 99)

And then press ENTER

Wait a few seconds,then see the magic begins.......

Anybody has an answer why this happens?

Also, these are called easter eggs, i have seen this before yrs ago on the old windows and the msg i used to get for 3, was the fox jumps over the dog or sthg like that, now on the new windows it is just as u explained. There's no magic or bugs about it;
Magic #1:
Several special file names are reserved by the system and cannot be used for files or folders:
CON, AUX, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, PRN, NUL

Magic #2:
Whenever we open a text file in notepad, it determines whether the text is ASCII or Unicode.. But actually there is no way in the world to exactly determine whether the text is ASCII or Unicode.. There is a function called IsTextUnicode in windows API.. The function does some tests on the text based on statistical data..
this function does not give accurate results if the text is too small to do the tests
i.e.: Any statement which takes the below format will "not work."
xxxx xxx xxx xxxxx (3-4-4-5)

Magic #3:
Microsoft Word allows you to quickly insert sample text into a document. To do this, type =rand() in the document where you want the text to appear, and then press ENTER.
This feature is turned on by default, and is disabled when the Replace text as you type option is turned off.
The =rand() function has the following syntax =rand(p,s)
where p is the number of paragraphs and s is the number of sentences that you want to appear in each paragraph.

Examples:

=rand(1) inserts one five-sentence paragraph of text

=rand(1,1) inserts one one-sentence paragraph of text.

=rand(1,2) inserts one two-sentence paragraph of text

Note When you omit the second number, the default is five sentences of text. The maximum number that can be used inside the parenthesis is 200 (this number may be lower depending on the number of paragraphs and sentences specified)

That is really so el weirdo. I am not computer savvy but managed to do the Bush hid the facts .
How does it do that, for all I got when I reopened the file was a row of OOOOOOOOOs.
I feel quite proud that I know how to do this and hope you won't mind if I borrow it to "impress" a few friends and work colleagues.
I know I am going to be a few LE richer tonight when my husband gets home.Because I am going to bet him that he can't make a file using the word Con.
He will fall for it hopefully, as he is not much more computer literate than I am.
Oooooh the power I will feel when I win that bet!
