I always wait until the last minute to buy Christmas gifts (I'm usually out shopping the day before Christmas eve). I made a promise to myself that this year I wouldn't do that. So, I've already started thinking about what I'm going to get people. Everybody in my family is easy to buy for but my mother. I have no idea what to get her. She doesn't really listen to music, read, have any hobbies or anything of the sort. A friend of mine suggested I get her a nice piece of jewelry (I have $200 to spend on just her), but she doesn't wear much and I don't think she would like for me to spend that much money on something like that. I thought about clothes, but she's losing a lot of weight...she wouldn't be able to wear them long. I need help!

If you need to know anything about her, just ask...I really appreciate the help!

Mothers really want you to get them something that shows you know what they want and what they care about. Don't just get her a gift card!!! Maybe you should set up a day where you both go out shopping/the spa/ice skating/etc. and you front the bill.

I just asked my Mom what she wants for Christmas and she said she wants food products that don't contain much sugar. She is tired of having to buy everything for the family week long get together. I think I'll get her some Omaha Steaks or something nice from William Sonoma. Thanks for making me think about this already!

Many ideas comes to mind:

If she is big on family:
- A portrait of herself or her with her family etc
- A portrait of her children to hang in her room

If she dislike cooking or likes to eat out or likes cooking:
- Dining certificates
- Cooking class certificate
- Cooking books

If she likes beauty stuff then:
- certificate at her favorite beauty parlor
- Spa certificate (some of the one day full treatment may fit into your budget)

If you like to have your gift last a bit:
then order once a month delivery of flowers, fruits, candies, nuts. There are plenty of those

If she likes to read magazines:
Subscribe a number of magazines for her

Good luck!

Why don't you just give her a gift card to her favorite store - that way she can buy whatever she wants. All women love to shop at some time and a little card can allow her to pick up something she spots and thinks she can't live without!

I like looking on Amazon.com for ideas. People have lists and you can find some really interesting things that you didn't even know existed.

My personal suggestion is a spa certificate. Although I never would have thought of it for my mom, someone else gave her one and she LOVED it.

Maybe a gift card for some new clothes when she reaches her goal weight. Or a shopping trip with you at that time, including lunch, maybe manicures and hair, on you.

with 200bux you could set up a great day for her. A gift certificate to her favorite restaurant followed by a spa treatment, such as a massage.

Does she cook ? I always shop for my mom and grandma at Harry and David's. It's such a great store ! They have jams, marinades, rubs, awesome snacks, butters ... they love it.

Or just take her out to a really nice dinner - just you two.
