I was buying batteries at a store. They guy asked my name so I told him. Then he asked me what I would name my future kids? I was a bit shocked and then told him. He was in his late 40's. I'm sorry do men ask this to a lady they never even seen or met before? I found this highly unusual. Your thoughts.

It is a highly unusual question to come from a stranger whether it is male or female. The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps you have an unusual last name and he merely wondered what a good name would be to go with it.

I would call management of that store and report him. That type of questioning to a patron of the store is totally out of line. If it turns out he is management, find a new store to buy your batteries.
