i heard that i could... if i can't can i use it with prepaid cingular? lol i have verizon but i must get an iphone i don't want to update my plan until next march because i might switch to cingular because of local signal...

The iPhone is designed for use for the AT&T network and all other networks are blocked. There are iPhones which have been "hacked" which work on other networks but then your warranty, tech support and updates are gone.

Switch to At&T if you want the iPhone because Verizon is NOT GSM.
