I believe those people will always get their day one day. My favorite saying is, "What goes around comes around"!!!

Hey there. To answer your main question: yes, you are being emotionally abused. I've been through what you're experiencing. When my younger sister was born (I was only six by then), my mother began to act cold towards me. No more cuddling, no more kisses, no more smiling, no nothing. Even at that tender age, I understand that she's not the same loving mother that I used to know anymore. Things got worse when my father moved to another city after getting a promotion. She gets angry on even the littlest things. I was suicidal, depressed. I have extremely low self esteem and despite being academically successful, I suck in socializing. She always compared me to a next-door neighbor's daughter who was allegedly "very hardworking, obeys her parents more than you do" and I was also asked the same question : "why can't you be just like her?" She called me names too, and even had said "If I knew you're going to turn out this way, I should have strangled you right after you were born." Now after a few years moving back with our father, she seems more controlled, but her nagging and insults never stop. What I did to overcome this situation is to find a good friend to talk to. Even if he/she can't give any advice regarding the situation, letting everything out of your chest once in a while will make you feel better. I also cry a lot. I'm a cry baby, but crying always helped me to release all the sh*t that I've bottled up. I wish you good luck, dear.

They were most likely already abused and hurt badly by the time they got to you. Abuse is an awful vicious circle.
But you are right. There are many people that get away with awful stuff, like murder and rape. It's so unfair, and it makes me so angry.

No they wont get away. Hell is in this earth so everyone pays before dying. Believe me, I've seen horrible cases and they always get what they deserve. Sometimes their beloved pay for their sins but abusers always get what they deserve one way or another.

The reason they hurt others is because they are already pretty miserable and most likely already suffer some kind of mental torture. I don't think they can get away with it, sooner or later they have to face themselves...

I really hope so but from experience, people who emotionally abused me go on to live a happy, painless life while I go on to suffer even more. Life's a beeotch.

No I don't think thy do , like breezey said "Some are protected by stupid laws that allow them to get away with it."
That's why I stand up to anyone trying to abuse or hurt my family , a child ,or me anyway I can.
people will get away with it if you let them .

Honestly...no. No they don't. Sorry to say that but it's true.
My father's going to die in denial, never even *admitting* that he abused and beat down my mother, my sisters and myself, ok? He's going to die getting off scot free on this one.
And frankly, I do see the forest for the trees on this one. It's a talent/curse I have. When I do see the big picture I see the whole entire thing *including the Leaves on the trees*.
So yeah, I see the whole big picture here. It isn't just one man being a vicious, violently abusive father, ok?
It's that the hick town he lives in *lets him be such*.
It's that the state the hick town is in *can't be bothered* to fund either police departments or social services properly at that level, because the damned politicians and Media will have a *field day* over how "politically correct" people are for *just wanting to help*, and for just wanting to do *good* for people.
It's that politics at the federal level encourage this negligence, arrogance, corruption and stupidity because as long as problems *remain in place* to be used and exploited to death, the Rich Guys win no matter what happens. They keep making money hand over fist *entirely at our expense* no matter what, so long as *nobody* wants to Solve Problems.
And it all starts from the individual being *allowed* to slip through the cracks, not just once, but multiple times, at *every* step of the way. Not just for abusive fathers, but for school shooters, for illegal immigrants who wonder why they're treated like slave labor and *barely paid*, for people going bankrupt under *vicious* new laws that put everyone *one illness away* from ruin....
Anyone can fall through the cracks, because *nobody* is really minding the damned store. Nobody. The people who are *supposed to* aren't allowed to, the people who *want to* aren't paid enough to do so.
So yeah, I hear you. People who abuse are allowed to get away with murder. They get off scot free. Abuse makes the world go around. It gives people from all walks of life a *scapegoat* or a target they can focus on besides the Elephant in the Living Room (their employers, bosses, plantation massuhs).
They get away with it, because our society *lets them*. It forces us *all* to be accomplices, to remain silent and keep our hands tied when we should be screaming and beating these bastards down.
Abuse makes the world go around. It's been like this at least since 1492, when Columbus oversaw the *genocide* of the Natives he first encountered in the "New World". And yes, the ship's logs of the time actually *used* that word, *Genocide*, back then, back in the day.
Sorry to be like this...sorry the truth hurts like this.
I know. Just because a thing is true, that doesn't make it *right*, or fair, or just. I know.
Keep your head up. Please? Keep your eyes open and your mind sharp, and your voice willing to speak. You're still young, hope still lies within you. Fight while you still can.
And thanks for your time. Have a star...hope it helps a little.

Yes, sometimes it SEEMS like they get away with it, but just wait.
