for a project in french class i have to find a music video that is
~in french
~no profanity (swears, graphic, etc.) so something that is ok to show an average school
~ and i would prefer to be something metal, punk, emo, or somethign like that

I am more familiar with francophone bands from Quebec rather than from France, therefore David's links will be more useful. But if you need french rock in general: Noir Desir, Vilain Pingouin, Banlieue Rouge, Les Parfaits Salauds r good ones to start with .. albeit some are + punk than rock. For solo singers, I can recommend Paul Piche, Richard Seguin, Jean Leloup, Jean-Jacques Goldman ..
