You probably need to have the good the bad and the ugly. Some ideas might be it obviously takes a life...but on the other side, some dont see it as a life yet.
-If abortion was illegal and there were not clinic's etc...people would be performing the task on there own...and in turn getting sicker that way.
If there were no abortion there would be sooooo many more children born into the world unwanted by there own family.

First of all, never do an essay about abortion. It is one of the most overused topics and teachers absoultey hate reading papers whose topic they've seen a 109273547259 times before. It's unlikely that you can make your paper so kickass that your reader will forget this fact.

One thing I talked about when I was given this topic is that the fetus is a parasite inside the mother... That was a while ago, I was still in high school... Google it and you'll find some interesting points. Read papers others have written to get ideas. Try to make points that you think are more original and that others don't really discuss when talking about the issue.

You said it was a research essay, so it doesn't sound like you will be taking a stance. In fact if it is just an informative research essay, leave bias out. However, if it is more argumentative then make sure to include opposing arguements and counter them with your own. If it is purely research, then make sure you are including both views.

Majority depends if you are pro-choice (that the woman has the right to have an aportion), or if you are pro-life (the child should live no matter what the situation). Sometimes people can be split down the middle, saying they are pro-life with the exception of rape.

Mention the risks that come along with abortion, and how certain states it is illegal. Lots of stuff. Once you start doing some research, you will find that it shouldn't be that difficult.

Sadly, there are examples where governments supported it from an "ethic cleansing" perspective, Id one from world war 2.

Also you might want to rephrase - even though you didnt phrase it this way, but some are reading it as good things about abortion, vs good points for a paper .

It's hard to come up with anything that's good to say about abortion. What is your own feeling towards abortion. Are you supportive or against. You don't say.
My opinion - the ease of gettting an abortion in this country has contributed to the breakdown of the family.

* people that are with it
* people that are against it
*procedure, statistics, risks,

but you have to take a stance , cause abortion in general is a really broad subject so you might want to specify what part of abortion you will focus on and then research the details. not that complicated and a good topic.

If it's done early, say the first 8 weeks or so, it should be painless, and that it should be painless anyway. The abortion clinic will scare one into paying more for a less painful event. If it's not even a fetus yet, there should really be no fear.

Since January 22, 1973 over 48,000,000 babies have had their voices silenced through surgical abortion in this nation. Children in their mother's womb have been dehumanized.

Over 4,000 children have their lives taken each day in the name of choice.

Over 4,000 women are emotionally damaged every day.

Every day in the United States of America over 4,000 American citizens are silenced against their wills. They have their voices permanently silenced and they never get the opportunity to speak on behalf of themselves. Today we stand in silent solidarity with those who have been silenced. Today we are silent, but by doing this we are being a voice for the one-third of our generation that will never have a voice. That was october23rd....
These victims are not only being silenced; they are being killed. The victims we stand on behalf of are not going to be mentioned on the news. The victims we stand on behalf of will not have a funeral. The victims we stand on behalf of were ripped from the safety and warmth of their mothers' wombs. The victims we stand on behalf of were not blobs of tissue, but beautiful human persons, with hearts that beat, brains that gave out brain waves, and a soul. These are the victims of the abortion holocaust.

Every day over 4,000 babies have their lives ended in the name of choice. Since January 22, 1973, over 46 million babies have died. The time is now to stand on behalf of these innocent victims.

Go to http://standtrue.com/index2.html

got to the "Educate yourself" section

there are pictures of how the doctors take the baby out and pictures of the baby after the doctors kill it.

It lists like 20 physical risks including 4 types of cancers you can get after an abortion and info about that.

it has womens stories and how much they regret and the hurt they encounter daily because of it.

Great source of info there!

I just realized you said GOOD things...............there are no good things about abortion! People who get abortions are selfish
