There is no ultimate answer to the question of life, or a single definition to its purpose, or an explanation to the grand design behind all things, we have to live with questions that we do not find answers to, we all have to live in doubt with the help of certain amount of faith in heart and trust in the mind. To maintain faith and trust therefore, in any shape of form among all this, could be one valid purpose common to all people; people have their faith in their families, in their ability to achieve and succeed in life, or to be their best in conduct, in their work or in their religion, but what is best of a faith for a person could be yet another purpose to explore and find out throughout in life.
However, there are two common ways to live life: first is the way of a person who would seek perpetual excitement of his world, through his sense of wonder and curiosity, where the other one would seek contentment through acts of obedience to superior ideals in life, love in kindness, thankfulness in of what he has, and acceptance of what he has not. The first is the way of the adventurer, the explorer, the sceptic and discontent, a powerful spirit who would like to conquer the world once, and then worlds beyond within dominions of mind, a person who know many things and learn a great deal; and, however, the second is the way of the person who is at home everywhere, a person who would learn little but who would know best.
The world has so far been dividing between the east and the west allowing people to form distinctive eastern or western lifestyles, but his will come to end soon. As the boundaries between cultures and culture specific knowledge are blurring up people would find that they need to develop in harmony with their world in order to be able to sustain not only their peaceful state of being but also their sense of wonder about all things making up their world.

Suppose you pick up an old tool of some sort and ask "what is the purpose of this?" A perfectly logical question and the answer lies with the creator of the tool. Suppose a raindrop strikes your nose and you ask "what is the purpose of this raindrop?" That would be a meaningless question for natural processes such as rain do not have purposes.
Notice that in neither case do we invent purposes. We either seek the creator or, if there is no creator, the question has no meaning.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted mathematician, philosopher and Nobel Laureate)
Those who tell us to invent our own purposes are just talking about feelings and not reality. The activities they recommend are to give the illusion of purpose.
If we reject God, life has no purpose, no meaning and is pointless.
If we accept that our Creator might exist, then seeking Him is our purpose.

what a question!! Everyone is different. But live life to the full and achieve all your dreams. Have a go at everything and live every day as if it's your last. Life's short... there is no purpose (that's my opinion) just live it.

In the context of Life's overall purpose it is all about perpetuation of the species while having as much fun, individually, as possible, along the way.

The purpose in life is to not have to answer this question yet again for the eleven millionth time.
Do people honestly think that they are the first one to ask that question here?

your purpose is how you see your life, if you just want to veg in front of the tv then so be it but it'll be a waste.
''live everyday'' is the best way to be
