Sometimes the danger believes you. Englishmen are famous for getting away with that one.

With realisation that the danger is real human brain sends signals to body either to freeze or react. By pretending it is not real you might not trick you brain and still get the same reactions. On the other hand it may help evaluate situation one is in coolly and find the way out.

Well, in an Italian family it'd be a "What's-a-matta for you uh?" *Gets smacked across the head* But in everyday life, one should really care about SOME dangers of the world, like running into a wall or breaking your arm. Unfortunately, some people will take it as far as being paranoid about being blown up in an I.E.D. (Improvised Explosive Device) incident...in Hawaii! As I say:

If your leader is drunk then you face a lot of dangers. I work with steel for a living and I was to walk down a valley of it I would want to wear some very thick leather so I wont get cut

A better night sleep and not so much worring. Then when i come back to my brain i have to face the music ' that the danger is real; and just try to deal with it.' and go on from there.

If you are talking about hang gli... sorry hanging off your hanky on a windy day then the danger is minimal as long as you crash land on your head to absorb the impact. You might get a cut knee or at worst a torn hanky.

You're referring to Penfold, going fishing taking leisurely strolls through his attic, fooling foolishly with Penny feeding goldfish and thinking of starting a tofu pond.
He should be up to his elbows in chemicals and electric circuits, trigger mechanisms, land-mines and gas masks.
