The United States of America does not have an official language.

However, many states have passed laws designating official languages. In Puerto Rico, for example, both English and Spanish are deemed official languages. In Hawaii, both English and Hawaiian are official languages. Many other states have designated English as the official language.

By custom, it's "Legalese".

Legalese is a curious language, used when one either intends to say absolutely nothing, or one isn't really sure what one wants to say in the first place, while filling the maximum possible amount of space.

I don't know about "stated by law" but all of our founding documents, every article of paper signed, delivered, mounted, distributed, and declared making us what we are today, was and is written in English.

Mexico / cans will talk a good game about the land being theirs, etc. But if its land they care so much about, they have plenty of it back in Mexico. What they want, what they are here for, is our GOVERNMENT, our way of life, our culture, our laws, our freedom, our opportunity - all founded by and written in ENGLISH.
