Forget the stats for a minute and ask yourself this:
Is this same man who spoke ill of Derek Jeter 4 years ago, prior to his arrival to NY?
Is this the same man who won an MVP award in his second year, then failed miserably when it mattered most in the post season?
Is this the same man who went through a "bad time" and couldn't get his head screwed on straight, in both the regular season and again in the post season?
Is this the same man who prior to the start of this season "mention" that his relationship with Jeter had "cooled"?
Is this the same man who ended up in the tabloids enjoying the company of a woman other then his wife?
Is this the same man, who just in the past week, decided, with his agent, to upstage the World Series to announce to the world he wants to opt out his contract?
moral here? too many distractions in an already saturated media circus known as New York
Great hitter? Yes he is no doubt, probably the very best
Great team player? No, it is all about Alex.
Best of luck to you Alex. bye bye

The Yankees won't get back to team baseball until they realize it's not about how much you spend, it's about the quality of players you spend it on.
I don't remember back to when A Rod was with Seattle, but when he was with Texas, he was playing on a terrible team with virtually no chance to win. He was brought in because he puts up amazing stats. So by just getting hits and RBIs he was doing what he was paid for.
As for the post season stuff, all I can say is the Yankees need to look in the mirror and realize it takes more than one person to advance in the post season.

Ha ha ha...I bet you guys were relentlessly mocking Mariner and Ranger fans a few years ago that essentially had the same kinds of complaints about Rodriguez.
Remember? Remember when getting good 'ol A-Rod was gonna guarantee the Yankees the next 24 World Series, and everyone else could just go to hell?
As it has been said before, you all are going to make this a most entertaining winter.
"Thooooooooose were the daaaaaaaays"
Hippy-crites.

People who whine about how much $$$ A-Rod gets, but in reality it's the owners who dish out the big $$$ for these type players. If you were blessed enough to play baseball & were offered millions of $$$, would you say, no way man, that's too much $$$. I don't think you would. Athletes in general are over paid & fans do complain but do you fans realize how much actors make say like Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks & Will Smith make per movie, do we compalin about that. Sports nowadays is just business & very few athletes play for the love of the game.

I am a huge Yankees fan! As well as an Arod fan. But even though I hate to see him go, I have to admit it was a good move for the Yanks. They need to rebuild, bc obviously this current team was going no where fast...with Arod and Joe included. The thing that I hate to hear is that Arod is selfish...guess what EVERY yankees player is...they get paid TOO much $$$$. The Steinberners should start paying their players on performance, not for their name. No team unity? Are you surpised they are the highest paid team in the league, and with no results...thats the sad part!!! I think the sons taking over management will prove to be good for the organization, bc changes have to be made...I'm tired of hearing about the damn Red Sox!!

People once again you're forgetting the difference between "hitting" and "clutch hitting" A-rod doesn't hit well in the clutch, at all. he may have good RBI numbers and above average home runs but the fact of the matter is he isn't a person who can be counted on to retake the lead late in a game, he doesn't hit under pressure. He CAN however pad a lead fairly well.
his numbers are deceptive, he doesn't produce when it counts and never has.

I additionally consider stevecar. A-Fraud will bypass the place he feels he gets the main funds. A-Fraud, Payrod...and so forth. who could elect him interior the long-term for a million/2 1000000000 money whilst he can get you to the dance yet won't be able to take you each and every of ways whilst he gets you homestead? communities could be extra useful off to unfold the money around, sign some high quality adult men and build a championship high quality group in the event that they don't have already got one. If a set is already championship high quality, they in all possibility merely have some vulnerable spots to shore up on and don't could commit a a million/2 1000000000 money to accomplish that. to boot - can anyone assure that he continues to be producing MVP numbers at age forty 5? look at Bonds. he's breaking down and could in all possibility be going to an AL group so he can DH. Is that what some group needs from a participant making a million/2 1000000000 off of them - a participant in his forty's who's the DH making approx. $185,000 in keeping with activity? some lunatic proprietor will in all possibility do it. interior the tip, i think of it blows up of their face and that they get caught with a freelance putting over their head that would not enable them to bypass after high quality unfastened brokers and no person else will elect to anticipate the contract.

Dude what an idiot. He is the best player in baseball and will go on to be one of the top 5 players ever! Without him this season, the Yankees would not have even made the playoffs. Ya, he did bad in the playoffs but its not like anyone else on the team did great. Once hes gone and the Yankees fall apart, which is already happening, you will be begging him to come back.

A-Rod has some of the best regular season numbers in history. He did well this post-season I believe. His are some big numbers to replace.
But... chemistry matters. He was not liked. I do not blame him for leaving as I don't think it is the money as much as he wants to go to a city where he is loved. It was not gonna happen in New York. So that is fine.
