YES - (Oh, this is going to be a rampage).....
Fear is being used as an awesome tool to "keep the flock from straying".......and for powerful people and big business to get their way. We're far from being afraid of 911 (who's fault was that anyway - I mean, everyone went to our schools and used our planes - DOH) The gov't has USED that to develop other fears in just about every area of our life - not to mention invading Iraq - but... then we do something really bright like considering giving people with no social security numbers - drivers' licenses..... how smart is that - give me a break...!!!! US Citizens are being penalized for being good citizens.
Fear of speaking out may get you fired or arrested for terrorism, even.....or god forbid, we recognize that someone is a parapalegic (oops - can't say that anymore - fear....we have to say 'handicapped'....) I even heard we won't use the word "hungry" in america anymore - it will be 'nutritionally disadvantaged'..... What the heck does that mean anyway.....? I think everyone is nuts. This government absolutely jumped on the bandwagon of 911 to induce fear in every possible direction. Doesn't seem to me that we're very 'free' anymore'. And oh, by the way, the stuff we really should be afraid about, the gov't/media keeps quiet.... funny how that's working.
We are a far cry from "a government for the people by the people"..... we're turning into the softest culture of them all - everyone is afraid of being 'politically incorrect'. What ever happened to our 'american spirit - westward ho - of our forefathers". Imagine them trying to do that today.
I also find it intriguing that the commericals for medical care are also full of fear (fear of not getting the flu shot - because you could 'die', )....(Oh, even though there's formaldehyde and nerve products in those flu shots that will create lots of drugs and jobs dealing with several nerve disorders created by those shots about 10 years from now!!) or restless leg syndrome - or pheripheral artery disease. I think there's an acronym for every disease - the commericals today are a joke.
There are no more aches & pains. Everything is a disease - being pregnant is a disease, giving birth requires a 'team' of physicians - old age is the biggest disease of all. What the heck is going on with this country anyway?
We are bombarded with fear every day - even laying our babies on their stomachs..... OMG!!!! So of course GWB is using fear - it works!!! (sheep follow, you know). Well, at least we're free enough to have written this answer.... so far.

Yes he is. He might even be fooling himself with it. But it's all BS from one end to the other.
For example, these terrorists are supposed to be the biggest threat to come along since Hitler. Ok fine: Where's their army? Their navy? Their air force?
Who runs the biggest, most powerful war machine ever created on the face of the Earth? Who can obliterate any city on Earth on a half hour's notice?
Who is the threat here?
These so called terrorists are nothing but reactionary peasants, ticked about foreign superpowers trying to control their patch of earth for the oil under it.
Yeah they got one lucky shot in, and all it got them was about six hundred billion dollars worth of ordinance unloaded all over Iraq, and more occupation.
This didn't start in 2001, it's been going on for most of a century at least. Britain, France, Germany, Russia, the US, they've all had a go at it. They'll probably end up fighting a real war over it one of these days yet.
Yeah, GWB probably has himself as fooled as anybody. The whole country's got its head up its butt about it, collectively.
Well sweet dreams is all I can say, and good luck. And say a little prayer to your god that cold hard reality doesn't intrude on the situation any time soon.

You're obviously one of the most enlightened and intelligent individuals on the planet.
Terrorism DOES NOT EXIST!!! What happened on 9/11 was a media trick, like the moon landing, the Holocaust, the Kennedy Assassinations and Pearl Harbor.
There is NO evil in the world and NOTHING will threaten the American way of life or our security.
Vicki Weaver died of a particularly violent aneurysm, David Koresh is hanging out with Elvis in Las Vegas somewhere and Vince Foster FELL on that bullet they never found!
Please feel free to concentrate your efforts and concerns on a REAL issue like Global Climate Change!!!
You're dismissed!

Yes, he's using the very real threat of terrorism and Islamism as a pretext to expand the power of the presidency, and erode the rights of the American people. Most presidents have tried to expand the power of thier own office, often using war, fear or conflict as a pretext - and those that have succeeded have been viewed by history as 'strong' and 'effective' presidents!
Not dissimilarly, the rights of the people have been slowly erroded - not since, but begining with, the Constitutional Convention.

No. He is doing what the people clamored for him to do after 9/11. His original proposals were on a much smaller scale than what we ended up with, largely due to him rolling over on the Democrats' demands for a humongous new department to oversee homeland security.
If you care to remember, all you heard after 9/11 was people caterwauling about Bush "not putting the pieces together". Now he is, and people are still caterwauling.
Just goes to show that you do indeed reap what you sow most of the time.

Yes. Especially since the world's largest exporters of global terrorism, Saudi Arabia, are an ALLY of the US government.
Ask yourself this : How many Americans are aware of the radical nature of Saudi Arabia's population? And - how much info about Saudi Arabia is presented to us through the mainstream media?
'The War on Terror' is BS.
-------------------------------
'The charities were part of an extraordinary $70 billion Saudi campaign to spread their fundamentalist Wahhabi sect worldwide. The money helped lay the foundation for hundreds of radical mosques, schools, and Islamic centers that have acted as support networks for the jihad movement, officials say.
U.S. intelligence officials knew about Saudi Arabia's role in funding terrorism by 1996, yet for years Washington did almost nothing to stop it. Examining the Saudi role in terrorism, a senior intelligence analyst says, was "virtually taboo." Even after the embassy bombings in Africa, moves by counterterrorism officials to act against the Saudis were repeatedly rebuffed by senior staff at the State Department and elsewhere who felt that other foreign policy interests outweighed fighting terrorism.' Hogwash..! He's out of office in a few months, so just what would he gain by 'controlling the American people'? And just how does he control us? By 'violating' the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Don't think so, pard. If you ain't done nothin' wrong then you ain't got nothin' to worry about. If you're plotting against the United States then hopefully those 'violations' of the Constitution and Bill of Rights will nail you.

Well, why don't you ask Richard Perle. You remember him. He was the reporter whose head was chopped off on video that was broadcast all over the Internet.
Why don't you ask the Israelis who have been bombed without provocation many times over.
Why don't you ask the Iranian president who would probably kill you before you finished your question.
The better question you should be asking is are the democrats using terrorist tactics to scare the American people into socialism? I think you will be surprised by the answers you receive on that one.

Hey, Who Cares:
"The trauma of 9/11 stimulated infinite possibilities for worry - some quite plausible, but most inspired by remote what-if fantasies. A society bingeing on fear makes itself vulnerable to far more profound forms of destruction than terror attacks. The "terrorism war", like a nostalgic echo of the cold war, is using these popular fears to advance a different agenda - the re-engineering of American life through permanent mobilization."
William Greider
Sounds about right to me.

Yes he is constantly , if you can stand to log in and one of speeches is on TV, what you hear is, "Don't forget 9/11", those acts of terrorism shouldn't be forgotten, Bin Laden will be caught . You can betcha boots on that, he can run but he can't hide, I'm after you Cuz. He makes me sick with all his speeches they are a dime a dozen about these terrorists all these terrorists if we don't fight them there , they'll follow us here, better to fight them there, they will come here. Tell me Bush where are their ships , where are there bombers, tell me how are they going to all get here.
He gets worst everyday with his threats like I said are a dime a dozen , keep them Bush we're sick of the same old speeches over and over and over again, get lost go back to Texas and leave us alone..
