Agree with what they were. Disagree with what they've become.

Equity feminists: YES. Equal pay and all that, but women in the workforce has come with a price. Kids spend more time in day/nightcare while both parents work, and an increase of production, meaning wages have to go down, according to the iron rule of supply and demand (if production of X increases while demand remains constant, the price will go down).

Gender feminists: NO. They're evil, sexist creatures, blinded by irrational hatred. And so is Goddess Spirituality, which is the religious version of gender feminism.

I agree w/ feminism 100%. Complete gender equality, and I'm for complete equality all the way around for that matter.

Man-haters posing as feminists however, I don't agree with. They're completely defeating the purpose.

I totally agree with the focus of feminism that says women should have the same opportunities as men. I disagree with those feminists who carry this further by speaking of female superiority. It's simply unfair and untrue to believe that women are empathetic and intelligent whereas men are brutish and dumb. It's just as unfair and untrue to say that men should be the leaders and women the followers.

Feminism needs to be brought back to its original definition as a movement for women's equality. Too many women are taking their opportunities for granted and refusing to accept any of the responsibility.

Beth got my name and my answer!

Basically, there many forms. I agree with the "equal rights" thing. Same work for the same pay. The idea behind herding the men and keeping them like cattle (although I know a few men that would like that) is over board.

Have a good day
Beth

Feminism is a very complex set of beliefs and it ranges very much on a wide scale, meaning different things to different people. It's possible to agree with parts of it, and not other parts. For example, some feminists are for equality, while others are for domination over men and elimination of men. So it's not something you can break down as easily as you have asked for.

You do not have to be anti-male to be a feminist.
To be a feminist, all you have to do is understand the differences between males and females and acknowledge the dual standards and sexism that exists. It is more about respecting and fighting for women's rights. It isn't about hating men or female superiority. A true feminist is about equality. Anyone else is just a little too angry or passionate about it. Guys dump all over feminists. Men claim that women hate them as soon as women say they aren't going to tolerate a man's BS and it's time for equality.

There are many offshoots of the movement as it was originally conceived. Some are not so savory. It doesn't mean that the principle at its core, equal treatment for women, is not valid and noble.

As an organization, it is a hate group and should be outlawed. It is an experiment in social engineering that failed a couple of decades past but is still promoted under the lie of "equality".

As individuals, they are sexist and self-centered even to the point of offering their children on the altar of 'advancement for (only) women'.
